EFB The Complete Fleet is UPDATED

PRO1 Global complete the EFB install on all the Braathens Regional SAAB 2000 Fleet.

So what exactly is EFB ?

Electronic flight bag (EFB) is an electronic information management device that helps flight crews perform flight management tasks more easily and efficiently with less paper. It is a general purpose computing platform intended to reduce, or replace, paper-based reference material often found in the pilot's carry-on flight bag, including the aircraft operating manual, flight-crew operating manual, and navigational charts (including moving map for air and ground operations). In addition, the EFB can host purpose-built software applications to automate other functions normally conducted by hand, such as performance take-off calculations.

Engine Change SAAB 2000 - Arlanda Stockholm Airport

So july is turning into a very busy month for Pro1 Global.

Engine change on the SAAB 2000
Our engineers had an engine change on a Saab 2000 to be done within a 48 hour window.  The engine arrived at Arlanda Stockholm Airport from overhaul in Portugal. The aircraft was taken into the SAS hangar and the team started the task directly.

The task went well with no problems and was easily completed in the 48 hour window, ground run leak checked and put back into service. The hangar facilities where great, warm with good lighting and an over head crane for the lift.

Basic break down of the task - the prop was removed and engine cowls, allowing access to the engine.  All fuel, hydraulic and air bleed pipes were removed / disconnected.  The engine electrical harness was disconnected from the airframe.  The engine mounts where then removed and engine lowered safely onto the correct stand, in accordance with Saab maintenance manuals.

The old engine had some items that needed fitting onto the new engine, this is called dressing the engine (such as pumps and generators)  The new engine was installed and reconnected, prop and cowls re-installed.  The engine then went though a series of tests and ground runs, leak checks in accordance with Saab maintenance manuals.

After all tests where completed and satisfied, paperwork was completed to put the aircraft back into service  flying.
